Hi, I’m Haomin “David” Ding.
An International Baccalaureate student and president of my high school’s Environmental Science Club. My interests lie at the intersection of environmental science, urban planning, and East Asian cultural research. I am especially interested in how scientific innovation and cultural heritage can work together to build more resilient, sustainable communities.
My work has included laboratory research on carbon-fiber biomimetic grass for water purification, technical improvements to desalination systems, and an interdisciplinary study of how Japanese Shinto shrines adapt to urban redevelopment. Through laboratory research, technical problem-solving, and spatial analysis, I explore how evidence can inform more sustainable places while preserving the cultural systems that give them meaning.
